Oh, yo!
Veronika Velvette was a character I created in collaboration Claire Eliza Willoughby for Snap–Elastic and the National Theatre of Scotland.
A fictional youtube influencer and “arts enthusiast” living in Glasgow, Veronika was designed to introduce children to the ideas behind art we found inspiring – and lead them in the process of creating their own performance art at home.
Initially commissioned as part of the Playdates series of work for children during the first pandemic lockdown of 2020, Veronika has since gone on to lead her own youtube channel, full of arts ideas and activities for kids, which you can find here.
All of the video content was shot, designed and edited by me, and directed in collaboration with Isy Sharman. Veronika was written and performed by Claire Eliza Willoughby and also had creative input and dramaturgical support by Eszter Marsalko, Isy Sharman and Alice Mary Cooper. Music, costume and makeup by Claire Eliza Willoughby.
